For Immediate Release: Chicago (February 14, 2011)

Interested in art or history?  Need a rainy day plan for your kids during your Disney vacation? The travel experts at The GO Group, LLC., worked with the American Association of Museums to compile this list of museums that have recently opened or expanded in cities serviced by The GO Group airport transportation companies.

After two years of construction, the entire Pearl Harbor Visitor Center in Honolulu, Hawaii was finally finished and open to the public in December 2010.  The new museum offers visitors a comprehensive look at the infamous attack and the aftermath.

What did the original Mickey Mouse look like?  Find out at The Walt Disney Family Museum in San Francisco, Calif. The museum, which celebrated its one year anniversary last October, showcases early drawings of Mickey Mouse, Disney family home movies and groundbreaking technologies.

The Fort Worth Museum of Science and History recently moved into an architecturally noteworthy building in the heart of the city’s cultural district. The world-class facility features a collection of new, interactive exhibits and programs.

History buffs will appreciate the National Museum of American Jewish History, which opened in its new location steps from Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell in historic Philadelphia. Originally founded in 1976, the museum is the only one dedicated to chronicling the American Jewish experience.

The Museum of Fine Arts, (MFA), Boston opened its widely acclaimed new wing devoted to Art of the Americas in November 2010. The project represents the most expansive initiative focused on American art and culture happening in the world today.

For those with quirkier interests, the world’s first Eight Track Museum is now open in the Deep Ellum Arts District of Dallas. The museum also features other audio formats in an attempt to preserve antiquated media.

Whether you have free time on a business trip or are on a family vacation, these museums will educate and entertain children and adults of all ages.
