Things to do in Orlando

This central Florida city is always bustling with things to do. Orlando is, of course, home to more than a dozen theme parks and famously sunny weather, you’re sure to have a fantastic stay in Orlando whether you’re in town for business or pleasure. However, Vinnie has some great out of the way places that you must check out in Orlando.

Vinnie Van GO has pulled together some of his favorite spots for you while you’re in Orlando — check them out!

Christmas in the Park

Orlando probably isn’t the first city to come to mind when thinking about where to spend the holiday season, but every year the local Morse Museum decorated Orlando’s Central Park with stained glass windows. Join the festivities, and definitely don’t miss the Bach Festival Choir’s Christmas concert.

Lunar New Year Dragon Parade

Join thousands in celebrating this traditional Chinese festival in the Fashion Square Mall. This winter event is a must-see — it’s one of the biggest celebrations of its kind in central Florida! Reserve a parade shuttle in Orlando with GO!

Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend

If you’re in central Florida in the early weeks of the year, you should definitely check out the Walt Disney World Marathon. With many Disney-themed races scheduled throughout the course of the weekend, this is an event like no other. Whether you’re running or spectating, you’re sure to have a blast!

Camping World Stadium

Also known as the Orlando Citrus Bowl, this stadium has been open since 1936. Located in West Lakes, just a short shuttle ride away from downtown Orlando, this is a great spot to catch a football game while you’re in town. Reserve your next game time shuttle today.

Orlando City Stadium

This soccer arena in downtown Orlando is home to the Orlando City SC, a Major League Soccer team. When the weather is nice (which it always is) make sure to catch a match at this outdoor venue.

Walt Disney World

Orlando is most well-known for this iconic theme park. Opened in 1971, this institution has been running for 45 years, and is the most visited vacation resort in the world. With thousands of rides, games, water slides, golf courses and exhibits, there’s no better place to spend the day than the Magic Kingdom. GO can provide theme parks shuttles and more in Orlando.

Universal Orlando

After you’ve made your way through Disney World, make your way over to Universal for a different kind of amusement park. The second-largest resort consists of two theme parks (Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure), a water park (Volcano Bay) and numerous other attractions. If you’re traveling without kids, this may be the better option for you, but both are great for all ages!

Wizarding World of Harry Potter

If you’re as big a Harry Potter fan as Vinnie is, then this must be a stop on your trip. This theme park was adapted from J.K. Rowling’s famous novels, so visitors can fully immerse themselves in Harry Potter’s world. Visit Diagon Alley, drink Butterbeer, and board the Hogwarts Express — all fantastic photo opportunities!

There are so many ways to take in the city of Orlando, but here are some of Vinnie’s favorites. Downtown Orlando Tours has several wonderful options, including a food tour, a gallery tour and a cocktail tour. Gray Line Orlando / Gator Tours also offers several options, including a tour of the Kennedy Space Center and the Everglades. If you’d like something more in the outdoors, check out Adventures in Florida tours. They offer several adventurous kayaking tour experiences — the bioluminescence paddle is a must-do!
