Things to do in San Diego

San Diego Annual Events

San Diego County Fair

In early June, the largest fair in California takes place in none other than San Diego. From traditional fair food and enough exhibits, rides and games to make you dizzy, the San Diego County Fair in the Del Mar Fairgrounds is not to be missed.

San Diego Pride Parade & Music Festival

In mid-July, hundreds of thousands of spectators come to the annual Pride Parade, which is one of the state’s biggest. Following the parade is the annual San Diego Pride Music Festival in Balboa Park, which showcases hundreds of musicians, bands, dancers, and comedians.

KAABOO Del Mar Festival

In mid-September, this festival brings three days of world-class music performances, comedy showcases, art displays, and more. This is a huge event, so make sure to book your transportation to and from the event early!


Qualcomm Stadium

Once the home of NFL and MLB teams, this outdoor stadium is now the home of the San Diego State Aztecs football team.

Balboa Park

This 1,200-acre cultural park has been a local center of activity since 1868. With open green spaces, gardens, walking paths, and even museums and theaters, Balboa Park is one of the most iconic landmarks in San Diego.

San Diego Zoo

This zoo in Balboa Park is known to be one of the best in the world. With more than 3,700 animals and over 650 species and subspecies, this is a great place to spend the day with family.

Mission Beach Boardwalk

This popular scenic waterfront path is a favorite amongst locals for biking, jogging, and roller skating. The boardwalk is also surrounded by fantastic beaches to swim or catch a tan.
